I cant remember flooding in Mist when I lived there. What a shame. I have such good memories of Mist. I lived there in the 30s when it was bustling little town. I drive through every once in awhile to look at it. I was sick when the store burned,

Mist didn't flood then. Indeed there were no serious floods between 1895 and 1964. Now the timber has grown back in the valley and slows down the water flow so the water gets much deeper. Floods along the Nehalem have become very common.
