My wife and I were in a park in Portland and saw this bird. It is a humming bird but we could not determine out what kind.Can you help? If you click on the picture you can get a more detailed view.

I would say that it is an Anna's Hummingbird.

My fiancé and I have determined that's just Fred, he likes to hang out in the branches of trees and watch the lady birds just flutter by. Especially in the spring when all the birds are twitterpaitted. :)

That's definitely an Anna's Hummingbird. We have a male that looks very similar to that one that comes to my feeder throughout the day. Once you learn their sound, you realize they're everywhere in Portland, and it stays year round. Enjoy.

This is an Anna's hummer. The red forehead is the key to his ID. Since his gorgets are not illuminated, they look black in thepicture, but would be red if inthe light.
