These photos were taken 3 days AFTER our flood – Thursday 12/6/07 @ 10:54am. My friends & their family of 2 children & pets live in the green/cream house. The water came very QUICKLY through their backyard & they were able to luckily leave the city to a friend where they currently are still living. She, her husband & I have been to the fire department, city hall & spoken to many emergency personnel to ask WHY? the street can not be pumped out across the highway & back into the river. This is what is preventing us from getting their recovery process started. We have a group of friends who are ready to dive in & get stuff pulled up & out, but must wait on somebody to figure something out. This will not drain naturally since the natural drain tiles in the field across the street have been damaged since the 1996 flood (from which we have been informed). Relief efforts have been amazing & we are hoping that somebody might be generous enough & available to help with this effort & pump the stagnant standing water from Juniper Street & other streets along Mist Drive. Please we are asking for help from somebody! Thank you.
