The Bobby Torres Ensemble will be performing at Jimmy Mak’s on Saturday June 25, 2011. The show starts at 8:00 pm. Driving Afro-Cuban rhythms ignite this inspired blend of Latin, Jazz, and Rock-n-Roll to create Torres’ signature sound. Bobby’s 12– piece Ensemble features Latin polyrhythms, tasty piano licks, a synco-pulsating Latin bass, five fat horns,
and the harmonic tones of the three lead vocalists: Karla Harris, Julana Torres, and Jessica Hollyfield-Melz. For this event, Jimmy Mak clears a large area in front of the stage for dancing. There is plenty of room for party-go-ers to kick it with Bobby, the Ensemble and all your friends. Cover: $10.00. It’s a family friendly venue (minors can enjoy the first set which usually ends around 9:30 pm). Down Beat magazine calls Jimmy Mak’s “One of the worlds top 100 places to hear jazz.” Make your reservations now as this show tends to sell out early. More information at: www. bobbytorres.com.
