On Sunday, an estimated 1,000 people floated from the Marquam Bridge to the Hawthorne Bridge in downtown Portland. It was to draw awareness to the EPA's studies that shows that the Willamette River has been safe to swim in during the summer for the past 10 years. It was a great success and lots of fun!

In unrelated news, there has been an outbreak people complaining of a strange rash and terrible itching. All victims seem to have been exposed to the same contaminated body of water.

The river makes my feet ichy just by walking in the water at the Wallamette. This is not a good place to catch fish or for that matter swimming, Yuck. I know that the river has been contaminated many a time of the last 35 years. It doesn't go away!

No rashes or other calamities from what I could see. Just a lot of happy swimmers enjoying the sun and float. Too many people think of the river as it was decades ago as if a permanent state of being...
