A group of astronomy enthusiasts gathered at Timberline Lodge at the 6000' level of Mount Hood last night, August 6, 2011 to allow the public to view planets and distant galaxies through many different types of telescopes.

Awesome photos. I viewed a photo of the fire in front of Mt. Hood on Monday, 8/29 (I believe). The whole mountain was glowing from the fire. I would love to see that photo again and cannot find it and am sorry I did not get the photographers name
