NEAR SANTIAM PASS, Ore.—A smoke plume beneath the blue sky towers above the Willamette National Forest on Sunday as another wildfire burns through the area.
The cause of the fire isn't known. Several thunderstorms have developed or rumbled over the area earlier this week.
Travelers and photographers can clearly view the smoke and Mt. Washington from an overlook along U.S. 20. The charred landscape dominating the foreground was caused by the Booth fire in August 2003.
