The aurora on the horizon behind Mount Hood at Trillium Lake. This 30 second exposure was able to record the light barely visible to the eye. An Orionid meteor passed by at the same time. Shot taken 10/24/2011 at 9:17 pm.

Beautiful, the last time I saw northern lights this far south in these parts at least while I was around here was in 1963 or 64?
