I was blessed to harvest this beautiful blacktail buck opening morning of the 2011 Oregon late season archery hunt. Thank you God!!!

Right on! Nice Buck. For all you negative neverwillbe any thing people, Do you really think that animals accually jump up in a hunters truck and fall over dead? NO! Try packing one in 2-3 miles. thin it's Miller time!

Congrats on a great buck! I really admire archery hunters, it takes a lot of patience to hunt that way.

I appreciate all the comments on my photo even if some of you don't approve of hunting. God Bless

all you haters are morons

It is a proven fact that any animal that has a hunting season will flourish. Why? because hunters protect and care for their resouces. There are more deer in the United States right now than in any other time in history.

Congratulations!! Awesome buck! Ignore the haters, they just don't understand that us hunters love wildlife and nature more than anyone and are much more in touch with nature than these urban God-less fools.

Nice picture! It is good to see effort rewarded. Most people now days dont invest effort in to food collection. I guess it is much easier to occupy veggie isle at New Season or Trader Joes and then try to force your beliefs onto other people.

Thank God we live in a country where we all don't have to think a like.

i agree, bragging about killing a defenseless deer ..SHEEEESH! and a BOO to katu for allowing this on the news site. this is not newsworthy

If people were really only hunting for food, they wouldn't be taking pictures of the defenseless dead animal and posting them on KATU. There is something wrong with people who kill for fun and have to brag about it.

Like you said it's your opinion. I respect that but the fact is that I have the right to hunt and provide food for my family.

Vegetarian is old Indian word meaning bad shot...

Poor deer :-( Hunting a defenseless animal is not considered news worthy to me. And no, I don't eat meat...Being vegan is THE best decision I've ever made. Whether its factory farming or hunting for your meal, it's wrong and inhumane to kill animals!

Nice buck!!! yahhoo! Good job!

I'm happy for you and your successful harvest. I'm an accomplished businesswoman who works in downtown Portland (i.e., NOT a redneck) and also call myself a hunter. I am thankful for our right to hunt and proud of KATU for supporting our endeavors.

Nice buck! You are indeed blessed to be able to hunt in a free country and provide food for yourself. I am glad to see this beautiful aspect of the great NW posted on KATU. God bless.

I have one question for you folks who oppose hunting, do you eat meat from the grocery store, restaurant, etc. News flash something had to die for you to satisfy your hunger pains. I am very proud to be able to provide for my family and friends!!!!

Much more humane that eating a factory farmed animal at the grocery store. Alot of work, dedication and sacrifice went into that animal as opposed to 2.99 a lb.

I didn't tell you to kill that deer!
says ... on Tuesday, Nov 29 at 4:51 PM
I'll bet that God didn't get up on opening day of deer season and think, "I am going to bless that hunter and let him kill a defenseless deer so he can have some fun." I am a carnivore, but I don't consider killing an animal sport or newsworthy.

Great buck! Congrats on being able to provide you, your family and friends with a wonderfull source of venison this winter.

Poor deer. :/

While I respect the rights of hunters to hunt, I don't particularly care to have their success post on the front page of KATU.
