This is our dogs water dish. We woke up Friday morning and this icicle had formed. What we can't figure out is why or how it formed. There was no moisture and there was nothing dripping off the roof or the gutter. Nothing dripping from above. Joe or Ronda, can you tell us how this happened?

Possible that freezing water expanded upward from a weak spot on the frozen surface?
