The smelt are in the Cowlitz river, but they are an endangered species. No public fishing ( or dipping ) allowed, but some one forgot to tell the seagulls. This was taken across from the Cowlitz just south of the little town of Lexington. I guess the seagulls have to rest after getting a fill of the little fish.
