A small quake of 2.38 hits in a really weird area. I am wondering if there was a slide or if this was a hidden fault ?

Actually it turns out that it was a blast. I wrote to the NSGS to see what it was seizemographs can register explosions , slides, glacier movement and other things even vehicles can be registered. No one missed anything.

Lee, If you are refer to this event: It looks like a blast not an earthquake. Bill Version #2: This report supersedes any earlier report of this event This event has been reviewed by a seismologist Magnitude: 2.1 Md (Probable explosion)

Well spotted Lee, another quake in the Pacific Ring of Fire. Truly unusual. Roughly 90% of the world's earthquakes happen in the Ring of Fire, of which the world has about 500,000 annually, but I bet those lazy seismologists missed this one.
