This is one of the life Preservers from the Windward Passage, touted as being the 'Fastest Sailboat in the World', and it kept that title for over 30 years. The book, is the history of the Transpac Yacht Race, that runs from Long Beach, California to Honolulu, Hawaii. This morning, the owner of Leif's Collision Repair was on AM Northwest, he and his son, are getting ready to participate in this very same race, the Windward Passage was owned by Bob Johnson, a man from Portland, Oregon.
