Drone Or Robot?

This is who I loving refer to "Old Grey" it was manufactured by iRobot in the the early 90's because of its ability to learn and navigate an area, would it be considered a Drone or a robot? Today's Drones use GPS as a proximity detector , But what of "Old Grey"? It uses "touch Senors " to learn. where these devices truly the first Drones to come about? A drone is defined as "a remote control mechanism, as a radio-controlled airplane or boat."
and Yes Old Grey still functions but his Power Pack is no longer Viable.
