In the 37 years we have lived between Brightwood and Welches, we have had to shovel our roof twice. The first time was in January 1980 when we had more than 4 feet of snow. The second time was January 2004. We had nearly 3 feet of snow at that time. This year, the most snow I measured was 17 inches.
