On November 13 we had purchased a set of Christmas lights from Wall Mart.
I usually always try things out right after purcahse to amke sure tht things work.
Well We found a very dangerouse situation.
A strand that was Faulting and had a Bare Resistor showing which was a 2.7 k Ohm at 5% .
I took the lights back to day and showed the manager and up on returning the set we still wanted a second set, so we went with a sales associate and unraveled only to t the point of the where the the splices take place in the second half of the strand. We (Sales staff and My family ) were pleased to find that the entire shipment was not defective.
So we purchased the second String of 80 lights.
and we tested them there in the store.
I am sharing you this story because it is important to even inspect New items for defects. The inspection could save your life and that of your loved ones (including our beloved pets). It also could save you from a boat load of hassles if you rent as you could be held responsible for loss of life and or property.
So be safe this Holiday season and inspect your lights, and other electrical decorations and member USE a GFI Outlet or plug in if you can then if any thing does fault you will be safe.
