When weather inversions blanket the area with unusual conditions like freezing fog for several days in a row, don't allow yourself to be imprisoned inside. Instead, bundle up and get outside for some fresh air, and allow yourself to be dazzled by the intricate beauty of the world just outside your front door. I took these photos on Tuesday morning, January 22nd, 2013, in our front yard in the Sunset neighborhood of West Linn. For extra dazzle, you may sometimes get lucky enough to photograph during that time when the sun starts to burn through the fog... but shoot quickly, for the sun can melt away the delicate ice crystals within a few minutes.
