I was born here 49 yrs ago on May 14th and my my how many changes there have been. I would like it known that I am 100% against the Casino in Cascade Locks. My family have lived here in the Gorge since 1864 and I believe that a casino will ruin this area also If the natives want a casino put it on the reservation. My children are part Yakima Native also this has nothing to do with race its about what and how we will leave this Gorge to our grandchildren.
I have to say that I agree that there should be no casino in cascade locks, or in the gorge period. A cacino would take away from the beauty that is already there. How sad it would be to deface that beautiful place.
Well hell yes we need a casino in our backyard too.There is one already or nearly complete in every other county surronding PDX greater area we need the tax dollars for our schools and police and emergency services.
While I see the need for any money we can get into our area, I have to agree - NO CASINO! I graduated from HRV in 1985, and do not want to see a gambling establishment in my home town. We need the money---but not that way.
