Peninsual Park Rose Garden

Rose Gardens in Peninsula Park 6-22-08

Rode my bicycle up from Fremont Street for the bike event this morning. Peninsual Park was very busy and the roses were all in bloom.

It was a nice ride on my bicycle, but I don't know if it was worth $150,000 of taxpayer's money for six hours of roadblocks.

No, Yo, this picture was taken by me personally. If you think it was copied from a Flickr page, post a link to that page. Don't you just hate liars? I know I do.

This picture was stolen from a Flickr page.

How much money have we wasted subsidizing peoples wedding photos at that park?

Dorr says ... on Tuesday, Jun 24 at 3:03 PM

Great photo of the roses. Will you re-shoot on a sunny day? Gov't Watch Dog: Pres. Bush still thinks gas is $2.50/gal, so probably not.

Government Watch Dog says ... on Tuesday, Jun 24 at 10:14 AM

Does George Bush know the EPA just threw a block party?

Much better pictures can be found at Flickr.

Great pictures Maxtor. Great colors

Yes a real pity Brenda. I sometimes wonder about the intelligence of some individuals that do not understand that the EPA a government agency (or any government agency for that matter) only receives funding from the taxpayers. It was a waste.

Too bad the epa is a taxpayer funded entity instead of being funded by the corporations whose bidding it does

Yeah, I like using our tax dollars to shut down large sections of the city streets for those awesome parades. Sorry Brenda, MM editorializing about the use of tax dollars makes it fair game for comment.

what a pity to see someone go to the trouble of posting beautiful pictures of portland rose gardens only to be attacked by trolls from another forum. thank you for your lovely pictures and trolls begone!

The last time I checked, the EPA is a government agency funded by taxes. Perhaps the naysayers should stick to the OregonLive Forum where they have the forum admin in their pockets. It's a well known bastion of liberalism.

you should do some research before posting! this was funded by the EPA and private doners. this is not your tax money...

To the two posters above, where does it say taxpayer money was used? Didn't the money come from grants (many from private sources?) Why not stick to the Oregonian Forum where the two of you complain on a regular basis?

Thanks for the opinions, Red Flyer. Isn't it a shame that nervous, overweight women like Smelly Sage have such empty lives they can only try to boss others around? I wonder if her husband beats her regularly.

It wasn't taxpayer money. The bill was covered by grants from participating sponsors. Nice rumouronging, however. You did better at that than controling your foreground. As a result, your description falls as flat as your shots.

Nicely done Maxtor. I really love the colors, the crop is nice, and the exposure is absolutely perfect. The cloud cover is a bit distracting, but hey, always a challenge in Portland, but still overall very nice shots. Thanks for sharing. RedFlyer

Great picture and I agree this spending was a waste of valuable resources.
