My Autistic Son

Young Autistic Boy Needs More Treatment.

Meet Sammy Marcott: a beautiful, fun loving 3 year old boy. Sammy lives in Wilsonville Oregon with his Mother, Father, and 3 older brothers. Early last year we were concerned that he was not talking (at just under 2 years old) Last fall, Sammy was diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism.)

Sammy is currently nonverbal and needs about 40 hours per week of intensive therapy to (hopefully) bring him up to par with his peers by Kindergarten, or as close as possible. This is essentially Sammy's shot at a "normal" life.

Insurance companies have just started to cover the therapy Sammy needs, ABA therapy. Our insurance company is currently providing 6 of the 40 hours per week Sammy needs. Our County is providing 4 hours per week, though in a class room setting, which is hardly effective for a 3 year old with Autism!

ABA Therapy costs between $40,000 and $60,000 per year, and Sammy needs it full time for about 18-24 months. :(

We've exhausted all resources - so now to help our Sammy, it's time to get creative! I've started a fundraiser, which can be found here:

For every $500 we're able to raise: I, Mitch Marcott, Sammy's father, will spend one complete day dressed in an outfit to be voted upon by the contributors to this fund. Options will include: (but not be limited to) a Pink bunny outfit, a Superman outfit, a spiderman outfit, a pink tutu, and a bear outfit.
This time will be filmed and highlights will be posted onine. Contributers will be given the opportunity to add costumes to the list to be voted on - which will be done online.

100% of fuds generated by this fundraiser will go to Sammy's therapy - NOT travel, lodging, etc. Sammy will be getting actual time in front of a therapist with every dollar generated.

Please feel free to email with any questions.

Thank you so much,

Mitch, Sasha, Jason, Joshua, and Sammy Marcott and Taylor Durda

Nonverbal, I like to call it vaccine injury, I too learned the hard way and now I keep my son away from all vaccines, since they are unsafe!

I have seen many spectrums and our familly has been exposed to a lot of different dissorders since we started Progress center. Our Son who has PKU has to be on specialized Formulas that sustain him. and those are not cheap. one is PhenalAide .

For every $500 raised we would like to donate 1 month of Sensory Enrichment via our Mendability program. Can this be forwarded to the parents? Search for "sensory enrichment therapy" to see the recent study that was done on it.
