Back in 2009 the VA started this program to house homeless veterans and their families and they are linked up with the city of Portland housing authority as well as the VA hospital and section 8, and as of a few months ago they were able to house 305 homeless or at high risk of homelessness veterans and their families. I am one of those individuals that this program was able to assist and because of them my son and I are no longer worried about where we are going to be living next. There is suppose to be a big get together to meet with all the social workers and a few of the families this program helped on July 1st at Bud Clark Commons from 2-3 pm and no one has signed up to cover this story. I think its incredible what Project 305 was able to accomplish because Multnomah county has a 10 year wait list for section 8 and this program was able to get vouchers to veterans long before the wait list was able to house us.

I think this is something everyone should know about because of how amazing the program really is. I also recently learned that they were approved for more vouchers to keep this program going.
Thank you so much for your time
P.S. I attached a photo of my child and myself after I returned home from my deployment. That was when our struggles started and I am eternally grateful to this program for what it was able to offer us.
