The Oregon Crusader's Drum & Bugle Corp. Is hosting a Marching Band Clinic on July 5th 2008 at the Chemawa Indian School in Salem Or. The clinic is for middle school, high school, college age youth who want to improve their marching skills,music techniques, the color guard will learn rifle, saber, and flag techniques. The clinic will teach the lastest visual and musical ensemble techniques. Music Instructors and directors are invited too . The cost of the camp is only $20 which includes lunch & dinner plus a ticket to the Oregon Crusader's performance on July 6th at 7PM at the Chemawa Indian School , there will also be a Alumni Reunion at 4PM on July 6th for all the Northwest Drums Corps.alums.
This will be the Oregon Crusaders first community debut performance . The OC is comprised of youth ages 15 to 21 who have been learning their drill and music during monthly weekend camps that started back in Jan .2008.
The Oregon Crusader's will also be performing in Astoria High School Stadium on July 3rd at 7PM, the Seaside Parade on July 4th, and at the Hillsboro Stadium on July 8th.
Due to the rising costs of fuel the OC must raise $25,000.00 in order to be able to compete in the Drum Corp International competitions held in Indiana in August. All proceeds from performances and clinic will go to the Oregon Crusaders. The Oregon Crusaders are a non-profit youth group that raise money through students intuition, fundraisers,and the generosity of donors.
