By now you have heard of the term "prepper"and maybe you habe you own thoughts on the people, and the life style.

Well I too have begun that journey and it all starts with this generator.

Most of us have been through storms and lost power. But few ever learn to say,"Gee I have power over that" and few dare to change.
Call me what you like because in the end when the city goes black and your fridge begins to reak of rotti g food and your stomach growls and aches because it is wanting to be fead who are you going to be calling nuts? The guy with the generator? Or your self for allowing your self to be victimized?
I am not here to sway you in any way.
But what I am doing I do for self and family not because any one has talked me in to it.

We each make choices those choices become action or inaction.
we either act upon which we have been through or WE do not learn from what has happened in the past and we continue to choose no action is needed thus sealing ones fate.

At any rate losing power prompted us to get a generator.
KATU has a back up generator for when they lose power, infact all telecommunications networks be. it land, cell, raidio, or other wise have alternative power sources. Some use generators some use VAWT (vertical wind access turbines on some cell sites) .

So why can't we? generators came down in price, windmills shrunk and even shrunken in price as well.Heck even Even solar has came down in cost.

So, I wonder, did I Foolishly squander money on something we may never use? or is there a coming storm that just might be having us use it untill power is restored?
only time will tell.
Maybe it was a waste of money maybe not.
The real question is how ready are any of us?
what will you do when the stores are closed due to a severe storm? Can you bake your own bread? cs n you keep your food cold with out it spoiling? are able to keep warm?
Do you have a battery opperated raidio so you can hear the news?
Maybe commonsense dictates what one shoud think about.
Rehearse and practice and prepare for what may come or decide that it will never happen . Maybe we wi loo l never get 3 feet of snow. Maybe we will never get floods that will cut powerI mean after all, we have power crews that can restore power in an hour or so right? And besides we never get severe weather and it will never happen here, am I correct in this assumption?

your right it never will happen because it has never happened in the past, am I right?

I don't see an original thought in this drivel at all. His attempt to stimulate the economy by purchasing a pollution device didn't do much at all...and he wants to talk about it? He can hire a psychiatrist instead of embarrassing himself.

Well said. That's our lee, always thinking.

Simple grade school physics: 1200w, 120v, means at most 10 amps, and more than likely 7.5 to 8 amps. I'm guessing your refridgerator consumes about 11 to 12 amps because it has a freezer, too. I highly doubt you're "all set."

Good God Lee, spell check, spell check, spell....Oh nevermind. You can't figure out Qwerty anyway.

1200W and a single 120V output, yeah, you're set for life there, Lee. Just tell me that you at least know enough to not use it indoors.
