Trailer of pigs slid into ditch near Lacomb

Trailer of pigs slid into ditch

Just before 4 pm, Dave a local was driving on the snow packed Richardson Gap Road, at the corner of Griggs Dr. near Lacomb, taking his pigs to the slaughter house, when his four wheel drive Ford F350 jack-knifed and went into the ditch. The truck could get no traction, so Dave unhitched the trailer and tried to return home to get his Kubota tractor. After putting his truck in the ditch near his home, Dave got his tractor and came back to attempt to remove the trailer that had the Gap basically closed to traffic.

A Linn County Sheriff Deputy came to direct traffic. The tractor was unable to remove the trailer, and a tow truck was called and arrived at about 5:20 to go retrieve Dave's truck, so he could hook up to the trailer and get the road unblocked.

I guess the pigs will live to see another day.
