Looking west over the Beaverton-Aloha-Hillsboro valley, the picture was taken at 12:30 AM., July 5th. It looks like a typical low lying fog but it is not. It is smoke...residue from tens of thousands of legal and illegal fireworks, an orgy that goes on for hours in front of nearly every house in every neighborhood, in every town and city, in every state.

Recession and tough economic times? It appears we have money to burn. Illegal fireworks? So what?...another apparent stupid and unenforceable law. Global warming concerns?...not on July 4th.
Americans know how to thumb their nose at
such nonsense.
