New home in newberg, Thanksgiving, 2013

I retired to the beautiful, wine country, Newberg, OR in Late Oct, 2013. I particularly love the quiet, the privacy of living at the foot to Chehalem mountain. I cannot hear or see my neighbors on two sides.
That was until Thursday, Jan. 23, at 2:30 pm, when I had just returned from the dog groomer, and was making a late lunch. The rear of my dream house is full of windows, out of which I enjoy the sunshine and a pretty, landscaped yard, with a gazebo and hot tub, vine covered fence, cute, matching, garden speed.
That all changed in an instant, as I watched the fence bend and drop after a big, nasty branch came slamming down on the back fence, taking it down.

Now I can see my neighbors, previously hidden. As the wind continued, I became concerned that the lovely, mammoth fir trees and oak trees in my back yard, could bend and fall. My beloved Bichon, Jack, and I, decided to leave the house until the wind died down. Came home and slept the night hoping what I couldn't hear or see on the backside of the house, wouldn't hurt me.
