On Thatcher Rd. in Forest Grove 7Feb8am

Snow day in Forest Grove

Some are cursing that pesky groundhog and others are delighted to stay cozy at home. Others have figured out their paths to work for the day. Forest Grove is shrouded in snow. Some areas under about four inches and other parts under eight or so inches from Thursday afternoons snowfall. Initially, the local GroveLink bus system went on snow routes but by Thursday afternoon, all bus service was cancelled and remains cancelled today. Some in Forest Grove took the occasion to walk to work. I observed one lady yesterday gliding along Thatcher Rd. in cross country skiis. As for me, I donned my snowshoes and winterwear and enjoyed the beautiful scenery on the way to the office. With more expected snowfall this afternoon, like many others, I may begin my journey home before conditions decline. At this time, the air is very still and cold with cloud cover and no precipitation falling.
