NEAR WAMIC, Ore.–A smoke plume from a central Oregon forest fire rises to the sky this afternoon, smoke-screening Mt. Hood from the motorists view on Forest Service Road 48.
The plume appears to rise from the area near Bonney Crossing Campground in the Mt. Hood National Forest, the location just a few miles south from last year’s Ball Point fire and west of the small town of Wamic.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire or how long it has been burning.
