I went fishing a couple weeks ago for the first time in a year or two. Most of my fishing has been for trout, bass, and some cut-throat. I had always wondered what it would be like to catch a salmon or steelhead. I had been talking with Joel, a good friend of mine, and he invited me to go salmon fishing with him.
We had been fishing on the Siletz River for about 2 hours without any action (except for a few of us getting snagged), and then I hooked into this fish. At first I thought maybe I was snagged again, but then I realized I had something on. Anyway, it took us a long time to get it into the boat, but when we did - all four of us were thrilled to land this beauty. I was stoked since it was my first salmon. It weighed in at 35 pounds. My arms were sore the day or two after, but was sure worth it. I had a lot of fun.
