My name is Pat Bucklein "Pronounced Bucklin" My son Jared Bucklein and friend Eric limited out on Sturgeon in the lower Willamette on Sunday. My son Jared and I limited out on Saturday also but that is a different story. The pictures attached are only from Sunday trip 2-19-07. On Sunday we caught 42.5", 43" and Jared my son caught his biggest keeper to date it was 55.5". As soon as my son hooked the big fish he brought it to the surface rather quickly. As soon as the big fish broke the waters surface it went crazy. The fish smacked the water with its large tale and got us wet then ripped line off and headed back to the bottom. My son about peed his pants when it jumped about 4' from the boat. It was very enjoyable to watch my son battle the fish for about 15minutes. The picture at the dock holding the sturgeon is me and my son Jared. Yes Jared is the taller one and he is only 13yrs old. The picture with the 3 sturgeon in the boat on the floor is my friend Eric and Jared. Smelt was the bait of choice FYI.
