Camping at Clear Lake on Mt. Hood

Ran across this guy on his 3 wheeled recumbent bike. He rode from Warm Springs to Clear Lake then camped overnight and off to Portland the next day.

His bike has an electric assist motor running off two small, 7 lb batteries. Cool Bike!

And no need to comment further on the beautiful lake.

I sure wouldn't want to get hit by a car or truck in one. At that height, it would be deadly. I worry about the safety aspect, too. They're still cool, but they really should only be ridden in quiet neighborhoods, IMO and not on busy roads.

Yes, they are called "Velomobiles" and looking on the net, there's many companies starting and producing them. IN fact,t here's one i n Portland making them...But they said "In 18 months you can recoup the rpice"...I'm a bit worried them about them b
