Lightning in Newport

BeachConnection.net staff were running around Newport during last night's lightning show. It was pretty insane for much of the night: extremely close at some moments, and the power flickered on and off throughout town.

Even in Depoe Bay, it went in and out occasionally. There, it was extremely foggy, so the lightning was highly dispersed by the haze. Very surreal.

We took some video of Yaquina Bay after it had calmed quite a bit. First, we were under the bridge for safety reasons. Then, it seemed safe to head out in the open - with a metallic tripod, et al.

BeachConnection.net will have more on this later this week.
