I drove down to the Day Labor Center on MLK Blvd yesterday to observe the protest I had heard about. There were at least about 20 or so protesters with signs on the sidewalk near the DLC, but very few laborers inside the fence.
As I drove around the block to get another look, I observed a small group of what appeared to be day laborers at the corner of MLK and Lloyd. A couple of them were being picked up by a red minivan. They enjoyed mugging for my camera. None of thm seemed particularly upset their pictures were being taken. They seemed to be having a good time.
I wonder how many of them are in our country illegally.
Why doesn't I.C.E. raid this area?
