The intersection of Murray and Scholls Ferry is a death trap. There have been at least 3 major accidents in the last week. One of them being mine at 10pm on 9/24/08. While I was coming from a complete stop making a left turn (with a sold green turn arrow indicating a protected turn) a driver ran the light and totaled my car with myself and my infant son in it. Not one person stopped as a witness even though I wasn't okay and my car was filled with smoke from the deployed airbags. The 19 year old driver, who was not injured, offered no assistance. She didn't even bother to stop chatting on her phone long enough to ask if we were okay. She told officers at the scene she was only going 10mph, obviously not true from the damage done. I need help finding witnesses and I believe the city needs to do something about that light. It has no camera's and frequent accidents due to light confusion and people running lights. Autohaus the company that towed my car informed me that it was at least the 3rd accident they they'd responded to that week.

She has insurance but as long as it's my word verses hers they won't pay. I have to come up with a wtness to get anything done.

Man, that is more like a 30mph crash. And, it sounds as if you were completely in the right. Since the 19 yo driver didn't flee the scene, I assume she wasn't an illegal alien. I hope the other drver had insurance. She's going to need it.
