The huge, brand new Clackamas County Services buildng in the Red Soils Area in Oregon City has 21, (count 'em!) "Hybrid Only" parking spaces. These are the closest parking spots to the building. I couldn't find any Handicapped Parking spaces, but I'm sure there will be some eventually.
But, questions come to mind about these ***21*** Hybrid Only parking spaces. Will the County now have to purchase 21 Hybrid Cars to fill those spaces. Are they open to the public who happen to drive Hybrid cars? Would one receive a fine or citation if one parked a non-Hybrid car in these spaces?
I suppose we second class citizens who cannot afford to purchase brand new, very expensive high tech cars will simply have to park in the outer limits. Only the elite greenie snobs will be allowed to park so close to the building in reserved parking spaces.
How nice.
Whose stupid idea was this, anyway?
