There were all kinds of vehicles decorated and painted in Patriotic themes. There were many motorcycles, too. There must have been at least 50 to 75 motorcyclists who braved the cold rain to ride in this Veterans' Memorial Highway Convoy.
I included a small memorial to one of our most beloved Veterans from WWII, President John F. Kennedy. This is a reduced size photocopy of the actual Tulsa Tribune evening newspaper I, as a paperboy, delivered to my home on November 22nd, 1963. My father saved that newspaper in his metal filebox and we discovered it upon his death in 2004 at theage of 95. My father was also a WWII Veteran who served in the Army-Air Corps in the South Pacific.
