The Evergreen High School Marching Band & Colorguard from Vancouve was invited to perform in the Inaugural Parade in Washington D.C. in January when President Elect Obama takes his oath and historically becomes the first African-American President of these United States!!
The kids are desperately raising the funds necessary to get them all to Washington D.C. The cost to get their suitcases and instruments to Washington is going to be over $5,000 alone! The cost per student is extremely high, for flight, hotel, food, etc.
These guys and gals are incredible. The untold dedication and hundreds of hours they spend practicing and exercising to prepare for their very rigorous performances is phenominal.
They deserve to get to go to Washington for this historical event!! If you can help them achieve their financial goals, even a little, I am positive they would be grateful.

My apologies for not "proof reading" the prior submission more carefully - I thought I had edited it, but for some reason...ugh. Anyway - you can all see how IMPORTANT I feel this is for these kids to get to go. Yes, I emailed every single news station in Portland trying to get the kids some coverage so that just maybe someone out there would feel inclined to donate to their trip.
