A loud noise and the power goes out. Normally we would expect this during a windy or rainy day. After walking outside, another loud noise, a flash, and smoke rising behind the neighbors house!
After walking around, we were able to see that a tree trimming job had gone wrong, and the large branch had fallen across the power lines.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the accident.
PGE was able to perform flawlessly and removed the tree branch in front of an audience of about 20 people.
I guess this is a lesson for us all when thinking of trimming a tree near a power line!
