The Willamette River was indeed beyond its banks when I took my two Terriers for a walk after the last steady rains.
The dogs are very familiar with this river trail and their surprise was evident when the familiar bank of the river had disappeared; no bank to climb down to and no trail in places.
The last time the river was this swollen was last spring with the snow melt runoff. If the rains are heavy enough this season, all the trails will be swallowed up with the flooding.
