In years past we have placed logs in the pool to absorb the pressure from the freezing water. But this year we used duck decoys. Our granddaughter thinks they're real. Well I guess that's what decoys are supposed to be like - real. In years past the pool has frozen almost a foot down. Our daughters have walked on it, but this is not something I like to promote, as one could really hurt themself if they slip and hit their head on the edge of the pool.
