This is the first time in over ten years (since I have lived on Cardinell Drive) that I have seen the closure of SW 16th (my cross street), aptly named "The Steepest Street in Portland."
For several days, the people who live on this street have been cut off from postal and garbage service. The street was closed December 15.
A main thoroughfare that connects upper Portland Heights to downtown, SW 16th and SW Upper Hall usually are plowed and sanded when the weather gets this severe.
