7 1/2" in Charbonneau. This is a tree in my neighborhood.

Teenie and Mimi / Artic Apocolypse 2008

My daughters are 15 and 17 yrs. old. They miss their sister, a sophmore at Western Oregon, who couldn't come home this weekend. She has always made snow men with them.
When the girls were little they would spend snowy days building snow men and women in the street, in the yards, in the parks. Anywhere there was snow.
Now they are older and it takes a little more coaxing to get them up and out into the cold.
I suggested we all go for a walk in our neighborhood, Charbonneau.
Needless to say we don't get snow this deep in the Portland Metro area very often. The girls had fun making snow angels in the middle of the street, and wrestling each other to the ground in the snow. Most Charbonneauts were indoors enjoying the beauty from the warmth of their homes. A few souls braved the freezing rain and 7.5 inches of snow and did snow angels in the road. Not to worry. It's a very quiet neighborhood. The excitement around here is when a car goes by. It's pretty quiet.
