Oregon City - Trees Covered with Snow & 1/4" ice

Iced Up in OC

The freezing rain started falling after 10:00 p.m. last night. It is 20 degrees at my house (off Forsythe Road in OC), and freezing rain is still falling lightly. Everything is coated with between 1/4" to 1/2" ice.

Fir tree limbs are hanging very low, and note the debris that has fallen from the trees in the first photo. The last time we had ice like this, trees took the lines to the ground all along Forsythe Road towards Bradley. NOTE: If you see a line down, don't go near it or touch it--contact the power company.

It's difficult to walk in--must stomp to break through. Feed the birds if you have seed or bread. Stay inside--stay safe.
