My wife and I went to Multnomah Falls on Friday, December 19th, because we wanted some winter photos of the Falls. Boy are we glad we did! The freeway (I-84) was not so bad, but the side roads were rather treacherous, even before the crazy weather this weekend hit. We made the mistake of exiting Exit 22 in our little Toyota Corolla and trying to get up the steep hill (over a 10% grade!). Needless to say we almost died before we managed to stop, put on our chains, and turn around to get back to the freeway. We continued on to Multnomah Falls because we figured we were already wet and dirty and most of the way there. We are so glad we did! The Falls were absolutely gorgeous with a light snow, lots of ice on and near the Falls, and the lodge had a beautiful white roof of snow with Christmas lights around it. It was definitely worth the trip and the wet conditions, and made for some great memories. The photos attached are a few of the ones we took with our Canon Rebel XTi, which performed remarkably well considering the temperature was around 25 degrees.
