We live on a ten acre lot on Bald Peak on Parmele Road about 5 miles from Gaston.
We have to be fairly independent. For example on Saturday Dec 20th we lost our water. With the help of our neighbors during blinding snow storm we were able locate the leak and dig up the drive way and repair the water line. Our driveway is 1000 feet long so it was challenge to find the leak, the snow actually helped by producing a wet spot where it was leaking. To prepare for these types of emergencies, we keep a 200 gallon emergency water supply, emergency generator and back-up wood heat.
