I got bored last night after receiving 8 inches of snow at my home in Oregon City. My boys were out of town and I was sad that they were going to miss all this beautiful snow, so I decided to make a big pile of snow so that it wouldn't melt as fast and they could at least see it. well.... after the freezing rain that came in the night, I realized that there was quite a layer of ice over the soft snow that would act as a great external shell for a little cave. I cut an opening for a door, dug the the soft snow out of the middle, and voila, instant cave. I emailed pictures to my boys. The loved them.
