South Salem: This rodie stem never had a chance!

South Salem Ice Storm

We live off Kuebler and I-5 in South Salem. There is an inch of ice on everything. We will probably lose our roses, daphne and other smaller bushes to the ice. Luckily, we covered out fushias with a bucket. Thanks to Melica for covering Salem! We love you and Gino!

Actually, sometimes ice saves plants from cold by insulating them. My father used to spray mist on our orchid plants in cold temps in California. That often saved them. Thanks for sharing your photos and story. SG, Hood River, OR
