Meet Washashe, a Throrughbred mare,that resides in Beavercreek ,Oregon. She lives in a "Pasture Board" situation where she has a "Run in stall", with a large field to roam.
This week she found herself in an equine winter wonderland, involving frozen water troughs and rock solid grounds. While colder weather really taxes her attitude, she has been Cozy warm in her new Christmas blanket and also has a pea gravel paddock that keeps the ground softer for her under her bare foot hooves in the snow. The facility owners tend to her water trough multiple times a day, making sure the outside horses are supplied.
She has been very anticipatory of her schedule of late..it is off due to this weather. Time off can get boring and energies do build up in a mare of her breeding.
While the footing is slick, the owners of the boarding facility do daily turn out of the horses
who normally are outside every day.They pick pairs, according to who they normally share a pasture with, under normal weather conditions.
The indoor arena has been very busy this past week, seeing every horse on the property for this purpose.
Wa,her stable friends have named her due to the uncertain sounding out of her name, resides outside normally. She has been brought into the stable a few times to be turned into the arena were she runs and runs! She, has enjoyed these romps in this slurry of snow and ice this December the NW is experiencing.And she enjoyus the attentions of being taken care of by her intrepid owner, that has braved the conditons to make sure she is well.
