Engagement In The Snow

My name is Matthew Wiley, and my girlfriend Kaylyn Houtari and I have been dating for about two years now, and I just proposed to her yesterday, up in the field at Concord Elementary, where I went to school as a kid.
I go up there sometimes late at night to look at the stars and think and try to pray.
It's a very special place to me, which is why I brought Kaylyn there. And it was so beautiful in the snow. :o)
She was being ornery, wanting to go back to my place (she's staying a few nights with my mom and I for Christmas... I live in Milwaukie, and she lives in Vancouver, and there's room cuz my sister is out of town for a few days) because she was cold, but I managed to drag her up there, and I walked around in the field, trying to pray, trying to think, kinda scared, but I finally wandered back to the bench she was sitting on, and it was cold and kinda awkward, getting down on one knee in the snow, and not really knowing what to say, just asking her to marry me and pulling out the ring and offering it to her, but she said yes! :o)
And today, my friend Patty Younglove (who has a bunch of pictures of her bunny on here, under mollee-n-me), who I met at our church, Gladstone First Baptist, took these pictures and others of Kaylyn and I at the Mellmer's house, a family who also goes to our church, in front of their lamppost, which looks like something out of Narnia (they took another picture of their lamppost, which is on here, which is how Patty found it and got the idea of taking pictures there... thanks Patty, for taking our pictures, and thank you, Rusty and Chrystel, for letting us take pictures in front of your Narnian lamppost))...
Kaylyn and I are hoping to get married around this time next year, a year from now.
Today is the Advent of Love, by the way. :o)
May the Prince of Peace bless you all.

Hi Matt and Kaylyn, Congratulations to you both! That was great getting engaged in the snow. This is a blessed season and you've added to it by getting engaged around Christmas. This special time will always be remembered in your years to come.
