We started taking pictures of the neighborhood on Sunday, 12/14 when we had just a couple of inches on the ground. Over the next week, with snow, freezing rain, sleet and more snow, we've accumulated about 24" of snow on the ground.
The table is our patio table that we've used to monitor the snow level. It started out barely white, and now is straining under a 24" pile of snow.
We went walking through the neighborhood after the firsts ice storm. My son, all of us in fact, were cracking through the top layer of ice through to the snow below. Here he holds up one piece of almost 1/2 inch ice that had formed on top of the snow.
As we walked, I found this forelorn mail box now leaning with the snow. We haven't had any delivery for a couple of days now, and this looked like the perfect example of the mail not getting out.
